No more MH370s. By the early 2030s, every aircraft on Earth, whether commercial, private, or military, could be tracked from orbit in near real time. Space-based ADS-B constellations are erasing the last blind spots over oceans, polar routes, and restricted airspaces. This talk will argue that the technology exists today to make “disappearance” from radar a thing of the past, fundamentally changing national airspace safety and global aviation security. We will examine how satellite-derived air traffic data can be fused with stratospheric and terrestrial systems to create an unbroken global picture, enabling faster accident response, tighter collision avoidance, and unprecedented transparency. This session will unpack both the commercial opportunity and the geopolitical implications of a truly global air traffic awareness system.
