Russ Teehan is the Technical Director at the Space Development Agency (SDA), responsible for the enterprise architectural planning, technology road-mapping, and advanced concept development in support of future Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Tranches.
Recognized as the Department of Defense’s constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA will quickly deliver needed space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the PWSA.
Prior to his current role, he completed a 3-year sabbatical in industry
where he led enterprise architecting, mission integration, and advanced concept development teams at Northrop Grumman and Amazon’s Project Kuiper.
Russ served in a variety of assignments during his 28 years in the Air and Space Forces, including commanding multiple Space and Missile Systems Center and Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) 500+- member organizations chartered to architect the future space architecture and rapidly design, build, and operationally deploy various space experiments and operational prototypes to Air and Space Forces. He also performed weapons research at AFRL, was Assistant Professor of Physics at USAF Academy, Special Programs Management, and served in multiple Air Staff and Office of Secretary of Defense Pentagon assignments.
Russ entered the Air Force in 1993, as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and holds multiple advanced degrees in physics, military arts and sciences, and national resource strategy.
