Yonatan is founder of Aptos Orbital. Aptos Orbital builds space terminals that connect LEO satellites to the cloud, providing resilient, real-time communication while eliminating ground station dependency. This enables warfighters to instantly command and control satellites, and deploy AI – enabling intelligent decisions to be made at the speed of battle.
He previously founded SpaceIL, which in 2019 launched Beresheet, the first ever private spaceship to reach the Moon. SpaceIL is also known for its educational initiatives, which are aimed at promoting STEM education, reaching more than one million students worldwide.
He holds a PhD in biophysics from Stanford University. Prior to Aptos Orbital, Winetraub led system engineering for sensing and perception within Waymo’s weather program, focusing on enabling robo-taxi in various weather conditions.
